Carl

We have started the year off great! Everyone is getting to know one another and we all seem to be warming up to each other.

To help the staff get to know some of the new parents and let the parents get a feel of the Carlé atmosphere we designed a back-to-school night on September 18th where we all brought a warm dish that we enjoyed. This was a good way to relax and really get to know each other.

Progress reports are coming out. At Carlé High School, students are given either a progress report or a full report card every three weeks. This way, we make sure that students are aware constantly of their progress towards graduation and play a major role in their plans to be successful.

We had our first gold level trip of the year and Bill took our gold level students from last year Kevin Almond, Natosha Hill, Amy Jones, David Ochoa, and Sina Radley to a Giants game in SF.

“The game was awesome and I’m glad Carlé gives us opportunities like this,” said David Ochoa.

We have had many community services already this year. On Sept. 11 and Sept. 14 Angie and her crew finished phase one of the creek restoration project. On Sept. 15 and Sept. 16 we were part of Lake County’s history by being part of Greg Dills’ crew that disassembled and move dan historic barn located in the Clearlake Oaks. We also will be helping out with the Bluegrass festival on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23.

In last weeks article we thanked many people for supporting the creek restoration project, but left out the person who did almost all of the organizing, wrote all the permits and grants, did all behind-the-scenes leg work, and pretty much got this project rolling, Angie Siegel.

We took our annual Highland Springs trip on Sept. 18. This trip is designed to help our bonding and aid our teamwork skills. We had many games and lots of good food.

Our art class is flourishing greatly and we would like to thank Lauren for her hard work. We would also like to thank Pamela Bordisso for coming on Sept. 12 to talk to our students about what Yuba College has to offer.

Thanks for reading!
