CLEARLAKE – The city of Clearlake got some sprucing up on May 9 as community members gathered for a city cleanup effort.

Trash was picked up along the main city roadways through town.

This was the second year for the cleanup.

LAKE COUNTY – The Relay For Life Team, “Find a Penny,” is encouraging the community to support the American Cancer Society by digging out those stash of pennies and donating them to the Relay For Life.

Drop your pennies with your name and phone number at Jack's Gaslight, 135 N. Main St., Lakeport, Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., or at the Relay for Life on May 16 at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three penny contributors. All pennies will benefit the American Cancer Society.

A penny alone won’t make a huge impact, but think of what we can do if we put all of our pennies together!
