Martin Lemke

We are sad to announce the passing of Martin Lemke, of Fernandina Beach, Florida.

He died at 82 years old on May 17, 2023.

He was born on April 26, 1941, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Harold and Faye Lemke.

Martin graduated high school at Upper Lake High in 1959, and was an artisan of body and fender work and a boat captain in Hawaii.

He was a lifelong biker who enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting.

Martin was funny, caring, outgoing and quite a character.

He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Lemke, and leaves behind his sons, Brad Lemke, Rodney Lemke and Joseph Sweeney-Lemke, and his daughter, Martinique Lemke-Figus.

He also leaves behind his two sisters, Marilyn Smith and Nancy Zimmerschied; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; also, his beloved pup, Elsa.

There will be a service at Upper Lake Cemetery on Saturday, June 17, at 4 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at Upper Lake County Park from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for anyone who would like to attend.
