David Michael Bosserman (“The Boss”), 71, passed away on July 29, 2022, in Meridian, Idaho, after a battle with heart disease.

He entered into eternal rest with his loving family by his side.

Dave, an only child, was born to Henry and Mildred Bosserman in Chico, California, on Dec. 1, 1950.

Dave was raised in the Chico area and graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Chico in 1968. Following his graduation, Dave went on to collegiate studies at Chico State University, Yuba College and Santa Cruz, California.

Dave also served in the United States Army for a short time and received an Honorable Discharge in 1975.

In 1972, Dave married his first wife, Judy, and soon after they welcomed their first child, Bowe. A few years later, their family grew to four with the birth of their daughter, Heather. Dave and Judy eventually moved to Kelseyville, California, where they raised their family.

In 1983, Dave was hired by the Kelseyville Fire Department, thus beginning a 25-year career in the fire service.

Dave was promoted to captain at the Kelseyville Fire Department, where he led the “C” shift, alongside fellow firemen whom he truly valued and respected.

During his career, Dave attended the National Fire Academy and was certified in fire management, arson investigation, fire prevention, and was a hazmat specialist.

Dave retired from the Kelseyville Fire Department as a captain and an arson investigator in 2008.

In 1994, Dave, Bowe and Heather lost Judy, their loving wife and mother, in a tragic motorcycle accident. Dave and Judy had been married for 24 years. Following Judy’s death, Dave relied upon his great love for Jesus Christ to help him through his loss.

In 1997, God brought Mary Oncale into Dave’s life, and they were married in 1998. With their union, Dave gained a daughter, Chelsea, and a son, Andrew.

Dave and Mary enjoyed their years together in Kelseyville, where they continued to raise Chelsea and Andrew.

Dave and Mary were active in their church, the Kelseyville Church of Christ, where Dave was an elder and a preacher for many years.

While living in Kelseyville, Dave and Mary also welcomed the births of seven of their grandchildren, whom they loved dearly.

Between 2006 and 2008, both Mary and Dave retired and in 2016, they moved to Idaho.

While living in Idaho, Dave and Mary welcomed the births of two more of their grandchildren, bringing the total to nine.

Dave and Mary enjoyed traveling together, caring for their dogs, and being a part of their church family in Idaho.

Dave was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Frances Evans; parents, Henry and Mildred Bosserman; his uncle, Tearle Evans; cousin, Claudia Nichols; and his first wife, Judy.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Mary Bosserman; his children and their spouses, Bowe and Christina Bosserman, Heather and Jack Nelsen, Chelsea and Brian Fahey, and Andrew and Samantha Oncale; and his grandchildren, Hailey, Lilliana, Jack, Michael, Ethan, Nathan, Cody, Odin and Erik.

Dave will always be remembered as a faithful man of God, who loved and was dearly loved by his family. The family will be celebrating Dave’s life privately.
