Elise Eldona Gunn passed away peacefully at 100 years old, on July 7, 2022, in Carmichael, California, surrounded by the care and love of her family.

Born April 25, 1922, in Kelseyville, California, to Leslie and Irene McIntire of the historical McIntire Ranch, she was the middle sister to Lois Jean and Patricia “the McIntire sisters," and mother to five children. Her youngest son, Donald, predeceased her in 1998.

Elise was an exceptionally loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and mother-figure to all who were blessed enough to know her.

Elise attended business school and lived in San Francisco as a young woman. As a Naval wife, she fearlessly ushered all her children and pets across the country through multiple tours of duty, experiencing life’s adventures along the way. After which, she traveled the world as a travel consultant and created a loving, fun environment for all of her extended family.

Elise was a member of the Red Hat Society, Sweet Adelines, an avid volunteer for the Arts Council and Lakeport’s Main Street Art Gallery, a volunteer in the Lake County public schools reading to elementary school students, as well as an extraordinarily positive influence on all her family members and so much of Lake County's history.

Elise will be deeply missed by her loving children, Robert (Connie), Kathleen (Michael), Dennis (Kathy), and Cheryl; grandchildren, Nicole, Janet, Bruce, Jennifer, Amanda, Eric, Matthew, Jonathon, Michelle, Stephanie, Erin May, Casey, and Tyler; as well as her 20 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Elise was a courageous soul, extraordinarily beautiful inside and out. She was the glue that held the family together. Her fabulous sense of humor, zest for life, and love of family will forever live in our hearts and memories.

A private interment will be held at Kelseyville Cemetery honoring both Elise and her daughter, Kathleen’s beloved husband of 52 years, Michael. Passing only three days after Elise, he also joined the journey to heaven surrounded by the love of his wife and daughters, and grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life honoring Elise and Michael, at the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 28, at 12:30 p.m. where refreshments will be served.
