Harrison Walter III

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Harrison Walter III of Lakeport, California, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Meadowood Nursing Home in Clearlake, California, at the age of 75.

“Harry” was born Jan. 31, 1947, in Charlotte, North Carolina to Harrison and Mary Lois Walter.

He attended Patrick Henry Elementary School, Everett Junior High School and Galileo High School in San Francisco.

Harry graduated from Willits High School in 1965 and later the College of Arts & Crafts in the San Francisco Bay Area.

He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. in July 1965 and served one tour of combat duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in July 1971.

Harry was self-employed for 30 years with Metal Arts Enterprises in San Jose, and Morgan Hill, California, where he produced handmade custom knives, jewelry and designed and built custom parts and machines for tech companies in Silicon Valley.

He loved to read and cook. He loved the ocean. Harry was a Sea Scout, a gymnast, champion wrestler, and a cheerleader. He will be missed.

Harry is survived by his brothers, Mark Walter (Kathy) of Liberty, South Carolina and Sam Walter (Kim) of Lakeport, California, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Harrison Walter and Mary Lois Walter.

The family will have a private memorial service.
