KELSEYVILLE, Calif. — Marcia Murray, 88, of Kelseyville passed away on Oct. 28, 2021, due to ongoing heart issues.

She was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Oakland and spent most of her life there and in other parts of the Bay Area.

Marcia worked for over 20 years as a medical secretary in Oakland and stayed in touch with former co-workers who had become good friends.

She liked to go skiing and her adventuresome spirit led her to go skydiving in her 50s. Dining with friends and dancing, particularly to music of the Big Band era, were on her list of favorite things.

Marcia was an avid reader who loved to shop for new books. She watched news programs and read the daily newspaper with her morning coffee to stay current.

Marcia was the widow of Connel (Conn) Murray, who died in 2019. He was the mastermind of the annual Wine and Beer Maker’s Festival which helped raise funds for the Lake County Symphony Association. Marcia and Conn were longtime supporters of the LCSA and enjoyed concerts regularly at the Soper Reese Theatre.

Marcia and Conn met later in life after the death of Conn’s first wife, June. Conn’s sister introduced the pair at a dance at Oakmont in Santa Rosa and they were married in 2012. They thoroughly enjoyed their remaining years together, socializing with friends and family, dancing, dining, and traveling the world together.

Marcia’s many friends remember her as “sweet and fun,” and were saddened to hear of her passing. She had recently re-joined the Lake County Women’s Civic Club and looked forward to seeing old and new friends there at the monthly lunch meetings.

Marcia is survived by her nephew Adrien Coe in Alameda and by family members she gained from her marriage to Conn.

Marcia was especially close to Conn’s daughter, Alison Murray, her husband, David, and their son, John, who she considered her grandson.

She also enjoyed going out to Sunday breakfasts with Dave Worswick, Conn’s nephew, followed by a visit to Ely Stage Stop to hear the Old Time Fiddlers.

Marcia will also be greatly missed by her dog, Molly, a terrier mix she and Conn adopted from a shelter nearly 8 years ago. Molly is getting extra hugs from her extended family.
