Walter William Jorgenson, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday Oct. 2, 2021, from natural causes at Park Rose Gardens of Fairfield, California.

He was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Perham, Minnesota.

Walter was born to Jacob George Jorgenson and Helen Antonette Seingir and lived most of his childhood in Perham, Minnesota, until he married Muriel Hazel Cote in 1947 at the age of 21. They raised their four children mostly in the Duluth area.

The family moved to San Jose, California, in 1967. Walter and Muriel moved to Clearlake, California, in 1990.

Dad was an excellent automobile mechanic most of his working life. Times were tough growing up as he quit school to work on a potato farm to help the family out.

During World War II, he joined the Navy at 17 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Area as a rear gun ammunition seaman on a medical ship.

His favorite hobby was amateur radio and built his own linear amplifier. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, country western music, playing cards and board games.

He was a proud, hardworking, caring person, who was always willing to give a helping hand to friends. He will be missed, but will live on in the memories he has left.

Walter is survived by his son, Gary; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and his sisters, Irene and Margret.

He is predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Muriel Hazel Cote; three children, Randy, Stacy and Marty; brother, Marvin; and sisters, Marie and Delores.

Interment will be at the Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota, by the Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home. Reception will be at a later date.
