LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Jack Landman was born in San Francisco, Calif. on May 3, 1915. He passed away on Sept. 26, 2013.

In his youth, Jack attended schools in Berkeley, Calif., and later returned to his family ranch on Morgan Valley Road in Lake County, Calif.

He was a self-employed rancher for 60 years and lived in Lake County for 88 years. During this time he worked off and on for the county and local mines.

Jack had many interests and was well read. He especially loved the ranch on Morgan Valley Road and visiting with friends and neighbors. His nieces and nephew fondly remember their summer visits to the ranch. Jack would spend many hours showing them around the ranch and telling stories.

He was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. He also was a generous contributor to veterans charities.

Jack Landman was preceded in death by his mother, Gussie Landman; brother, Raymond Landman; and his nephew, Joseph Gastaldi. Gussie's father was Charles Bose.

Jack is survived by his sister, Anita Gastaldi; and his nieces, Linda Shoemake, Marilyn Gastaldi, Polly Gastaldi-Therkildsen and Sonia Gastaldi-Ward.

The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who assisted Jack in recent years.

A graveside gathering will be held at the Lower Lake Cemetery at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.
