Robert Alan “Bob” Weber, age 54, of Spring Valley, Calif., died Dec. 7, 2012, of an apparent sudden heart attack.

Born May 13, 1958, in Colorado Springs, Co. Bob spent his early life living in Pacifica, Calif., loving the waves, and the water.

The son of Carol and Walter Weber, he was one of three children. Bob married Trish Mohr, of Clearlake on Nov. 28, 2012.

Educated in Pacifica, Bob was an AAU class swimmer while in school. He enjoyed hanging around the piers, catching fish and likewise the occasional wave. As a youth he played the trumpet and harmonica and demonstrated a gift for drawing wild life.

Bob had many talents, one of which was cooking at “Tait’s at the Wharf” on Pier 45 in San Francisco.  He worked at several jobs during his life and for over 25 years, and became known for his craft at house painting.

Spending his life in Northern California, he came to settle in Spring Valley, where he cared for his mother, Carol.

He was very active at the Spring Valley Community Center where he could often be found lending a hand.

He was very active and faithful in his church and a staunch supporter of 12-step recovery programs, to  which he volunteered his time and energy to meet their needs.

Always a delight, he had a smile for everyone he met. In fact, Bob became known for his infectious smile enjoyed by family and friends alike.

He loved to make folks laugh. He had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed the occasional joke and singing in church. His baritone voice was a complement to any church choir.

Bob is survived by his wife, Trish, of Clearlake; his mother, Carol Weber of Spring Valley; and father, Walter Weber of Oceana, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine, and brother, Walt.

A celebration of life will be held at the Clearlake Oaks Community-United Methodist Church, in Clearlake Oaks, Calif., at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. A potluck reception will be held in the church hall after the celebration.

Contributions to his memorial fund can be sent to the Clearlake Oaks Community-United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 962, Clearlake Oaks, CA 95423; please note “Bob Weber” on your contribution.
