Neva M. Arthur passed away at her home in Kelseyville, Calif.

She leaves behind her children, Leida Daugherty of Red Bluff, Calif.; Paul Arthur of Cody, Wyo.; Elise Kear of Kelseyville; and John Arthur of Kelseyville; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Hellena Clemes of Pinole, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Arthur and a daughter, Peggy Arthur.

Born in her family's sod home in Nebraska to John and Elise Miller, she grew up on a 160 acre farm. There, she helped her dad harvest corn and wheat until she was 20.

She moved from Nebraska to Southern California before settling in San Jose and lived in Kelseyville for the last 26 years.

She had a green thumb and loved to garden, particularly growing flowers on her land. She had rows of iris lining her driveway, and African violets inside.

She also loved to bake and always made sure at every occasion there were chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cake!

Neva's work history included working for her sister as a beautician, working in a laundry service and for two gas stations. Neva was particularly proud that she only had an eighth grade education, but still
worked her way up in the medical field to become an LVN. She was a compassionate person and loved her work.

Lastly, family was very important to her and she loved spending time with all of her children and grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lakeport on Saturday, July 21, at 4 p.m., with a visitation at 3 p.m. Committal services will be in San Jose on Monday.
