Burton Clare Harlan passed away in Lake County, Calif., on April 10, 2012 at the age of 82.

Burton was born in Brawley, Calif., to Arden and Clare Harlan.

He spent most of his life working as a farmer, later going into business with his son Rod and friend Pete at UCC Rentals in Lakeport.

He proudly served in the US Army from 1953-1955.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, passions he shared with his wife Peggy for 48 years until her death.

He leaves behind his family: daughter, Randy Mann of Santa Rosa; and sons, Rodney Duncan of Kelseyville, Burt Harlan of Orange County, Roger Duncan of Santa Rosa and Mike Harlan of Durango, Colo. He also is survived by 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Family services will be held in May and he will be laid to rest at the Kelseyville Cemetery.

Family requests any donations be made to Hospice Services of Lake County or the Lakeport Senior Center.
