Tritchler: A businessman should know better

I was distressed to see Anthony Farrington campaign signs all over what was once Jed Steele's winery. Steele established his own winery after putting Kendall-Jackson on the map and I have been a loyal wine club member ever since. I must now reconsider my continued patronage of what I like to call my local winery. I live two miles away.

Clay Shannon has every right to support anyone he chooses for DA, even someone as demonstrably unqualified as Anthony Farrington whose selfish political aspirations are obvious to all. But any savvy businessman would know that publically getting involved in local politics is bound to alienate some percentage of his customer base.

Besides me, I imagine some of those offended would include previous Board of Supervisors members who served with Farrington and refuse to endorse him as well as other wine club members.

And why support a candidate for DA who has never shown any interest in being a prosecutor in the first place and chose to be an ambulance chaser instead?

As a businessman Clay Shannon should know better.
