Carney: Too simple a solution

When you look at the vast sums of money proposed for veterans' care, it occurs to me that if the federal government shut down all the clinics, all the hospitals, and paid for veterans' care with their own doctor and the local hospital, untold billions would be saved.

I realize this is too simple a solution, especially since Veterans Affairs has been firmly entrenched in this blatant waste of money for many years. It's hard, or near impossible, to dissolve a bureaucracy. Such a pity.

Johnny Carney lives in Kelseyville.
