LAKEPORT – National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) of Lake County.


The Lake County Chapter of the NWPC will host a Founding Daughters’ Tea Party for the entire family on Saturday, May 9.


This event will start promptly at 2 p.m. and will last until 4 p.m. It will be held at the Victorian Home of Suzanne Lyons, 225 Tunis St., between Second and Thirds streets in Lakeport.


This event will provide attendees an opportunity to learn more about Lake County NWPC and membership. There will be music, a raffle, scrumptious treats and, a proper “cuppa” tea. There will also be a hat contest with prizes.

Suggested donations are as follows: 2009 members (16 and over), $50 suggested donation; Kids Auxiliary (under 16), $5 suggested donation. There also will be a mother/daughter membership drive. Checks can be made out to the NWPC Lake County. Tickets will be available at the door or at Watershed Books, 305 N. Main St., Lakeport, telephone 707-263-5787.


The NWPC is the only national grassroots organization dedicated to increasing the number of women officials at all levels of government. NWPC was founded in 1971 as the political arm of the women’s movements, working to recruit, and train and support women for elected and appointed office, regardless of party affiliation.


The caucus reaches across party lines to maximize women’s political energy and make the system work for women. It is committed to serving all women who support core issues of reproductive freedom, improved child care/dependent care, and the Equal Rights Amendment.
