Sailing swap meet planned for May 27

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. — On Saturday, May 27, the Konocti Bay Sailing Club will hold a sailing swap meet at Braito’s Marina.

The swap meet will take place from 9 to 11 a.m.

Members will be bringing used but serviceable sailing gear and equipment, lines and hardware they’ve gathered over the years to swap, sell, trade or donate.

Use this opportunity to get your boat in shape for the season and also meet the dedicated sailors of the club.

The club will be getting rid of old inventory as well, including regatta shirts and other club apparel.

Club members also can offer advice on rigging, restoring and other general sailing knowledge to make your experiences on the water more fun. If you have gear, lines or clothing, bring your stuff down. It’s free.

Because of parking space issues, please don’t bring any boats to Braito’s Marina to sell. Write something up and maybe a few pictures as there may be visitors that might be interested, but keep in mind, most KBSC members already have their own boats.

At 11 a.m. they will have a skippers meeting regarding that day's race. There may be crewing opportunities to join in the fun, no membership required.

The race is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

Braito’s Marina is located at 1555 Eastlake Drive in Kelseyville.

Duane Harper is a member of the Konocti Bay Sailing Club.
