COBB, Calif. – Cobb Mountain Elementary announced that one of its students achieved nationwide standing in the annual WordMasters Challenge.

Competing in the difficult Blue Division of the WordMasters Challenge, sixth-grader Lily Morita earned a perfect score of 20 on the challenge.

Nationally, only 26 sixth graders achieved this result.

This is the second year in a row that Lily Morita has earned a perfect score in the WordMasters National challenge.

The WordMasters Challenge is an exercise in critical thinking that encourages students to become familiar with a set of interesting new words – considerably more challenging than grade kinds of logical relationships.

Working to solve the analogies helps students learn to think both analytically and metaphorically.

“We are so proud of our students’ academic success and are happy to share in the celebration with our community,” the school said.
