Lake County Continuum of Care announces the availability of Emergency Solutions Grant Program – coronavirus allocation

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Continuum of Care, or LCCoC, is pleased to announce the availability of Emergency Solutions Grant, Coronavirus funding.

The grant, also known as ESG-CV, is allocated funding received by the LCCoC through the CARES Act that are to prevent, prepare for, and respond to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or receiving homeless assistance in Lake County and are at risk due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funding is available for street outreach, prevention services, and emergency shelter for prevention, preparation and response to coronavirus; housing vouchers, rapid re-housing programs, eviction prevention and housing relocation; training on infectious disease prevention and mitigation and to provide hazard pay (including for time worked prior to the date of enactment of the (CARES Act) for staff working directly to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus among persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Funding amount: Funds available for this project total $630,000.00, divided into amounts for Emergency Shelters ($300,000), Rapid Rehousing ($300,000) and Prevention ($30,000).

Requirements: Agencies applying must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, local unit of government, or a state or federal tribal entity that serves those struggling with homelessness or at-risk of becoming homeless in Lake County.

Application due date: March 2, 2021.

The Lake County Continuum of Care is a HUD-designated organization that promotes communitywide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; provides funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, and state and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families, and communities by homelessness; promotes equity and access to and effects utilization of mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families; and optimizes self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
