Bartlett salvage sale awarded; logging operations planned northeast of Clear Lake

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Mendocino National Forest officials announced that the Bartlett Salvage Sale has been awarded to Sharp Timber Harvesting.

Logging operations are expected to get under way soon in the timber sale area northeast of Clear Lake on the Upper Lake Ranger District.

In the 500-acre Bartlett area, tree felling and hauling will occur on roads around County Road 303, including 15N08, 15N09, 15N11A, 15N21, 15N22, 16N01 and 16N01D.

When hauling begins, there will be an estimated 10 trucks a day and dust abatement vehicles on the roads.

Visitors are advised that logging operations will be a common occurrence across the Mendocino National Forest this fall as the Bartlett Sale is the first of several sales planned in the Ranch Fire roadside hazard tree management project.

Please be extra cautious while traveling around sale areas as personnel and equipment will be working near and on the roads. Be prepared for possible traffic delays. Please follow traffic signs along the haul route and watch for logging activity signs.
