MIDDLETOWN – Twin Pine Casino is planning a number of November events, including a celebration of the casino's anniversary.

The Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians, who owns the casino, will be celebrating Twin Pine's 13th anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 24.

In October, the tribe embarked on a 90,000-square-foot expansion of Twin Pine, which grew out of an alliance Middletown Rancheria formed with the Mohegan Tribe.

The new facility will include 50,000 square feet of gaming space to accommodate up to 700 gaming slot machines, 12 table games, 10 poker tables, a 60-room hotel, retail space, a wine tasting room and three food areas, as Lake County News previously reported.

The Nov. 24 celebration will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be free gifts, free food and cash drawings.

In November and December, Twin Pine also plans an effort to help fill local food banks.

From Nov. 1 through Dec. 23, the casino invites visitors to bring in two cans of food or other nonperishable food items and receive a drawing ticket. The limit is two tickets per day.

Twin Pine Casino is located on Highway 29 at Rancheria in Middletown, telephone 800-564-4872. Visit them on the Web at www.twinpine.com.
