MIDDLETOWN – For months the Middletown Area Town Hall has been talking about electronic signage. Would it be good for the Middletown business community? How does it work? How much does it cost?

On Thursday, Sept. 20, many of those questions and more will no doubt be answered. Why? Because that is when Vizicast Multimedia Inc. will be in town to make a special presentation at the FREE Middletown Area Business Association (MABA) Back to School Business Mixer at the Middletown High School's Multi-Use Center, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

There will be food, refreshments and door prizes (provided by MABA members and our special guest, Vizicast Multimedia Inc.). The general public is encouraged to attend.

Vizicast Multimedia Inc. is the parent company of SFTV, San Francisco Television. SFTV creates multimedia content for visitors utilizing various multimedia tools. SFTV is a division of Vizicast Multimedia Inc. and is the official television program created and produced specifically for San Francisco visitors, viewed on the televisions in the comfort and privacy of the visitor’s hotel room.

Through the utilization of a Vizicast Multimedia Solution, San Francisco Television is now completely digital! The new SFTV digital television program highlights the colorful history, charm and allure of the world's most favorite city, San Francisco. The program gives the visitors information and recommendations on some of the best places in the Bay Area. Recommendations on local attractions, dining, entertainment, shopping, nightlife and much, much more.

Each month, SFTV is viewed by more than 100,000 people who stay in the SFTV network of more than 9,200 Class "A" hotel rooms located in 19 major San Francisco hotels. SFTV is free to viewers and is available 24 hours a day. Local, regional and national advertisers promote their products and services using San Francisco as a backdrop for their messages.

SFTV also can be seen in the San Francisco Visitor Information Center. Brian Baker, vice president of advertising for the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau says, "The inclusion of SFTV into our visitor center offers our guests the opportunity to view the city as only television can present it ... while they are still in the decision-making process about where they want to go."

Kevin Comora, executive producer of SFTV, says, "The addition of the Visitor Information Center to the SFTV network benefits both San Francisco visitors and SFTV advertisers. SFTV is a wonderful introduction to San Francisco and the Bay Area."

This MABA Mixer will do more than enlighten the public as to the benefits of electronic signage. Attendees also will be greeted with vendor tables from a wide range of MABA members – including Star Gardens Nursery, Hidden Valley Community Church, Middletown Florist & Gifts, Middletown Post Office, Fergusson Cutlery and more.

MABA members Scott and Linda Fergusson are currently organizing a "business committee" to help interested members take their small business to a more productive level. This committee will help business people learn how to use both online and offline resources to better spread their business message.

In addition, on Saturday, Sept. 29, Hidden Valley Community Church is offering a special free seminar on the use of various Internet tools – including Skype, Talkshoe, Evite, Ryze, Squidoo, Jott and Intellect. With the exception of Intellect, all these tools are freely available online.\

The seminar will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The Hidden Valley Community Church is located at 18160 Spruce Grove Road Extension in Hidden Valley Lake. For more information, call the church office at 707-987-3510.

With Oct. 18 being the date set for MABA's annual dinner, Lake County businesses could not pick a better time to not only attend a MABA Mixer, but join the organization.

MABA's Annual Business Directory has not yet been published, so there is still time to get included. Applications for membership in MABA will be available at the mixer.
