COBB, Calif. — On Aug. 24, the Lake County community of Cobb will host the fourth annual Blackberry Cobbler Festival.
It will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Belmont Pines Golf Course, 16451 Golf Road in Cobb.
After the devastating Valley Fire of 2015, Cobb residents have rebounded in style, and with the support of the Cobb Area Council, or CAC, have produced an event that showcases the community.
This family-oriented event grows increasingly popular each year. The CAC, in partnership with the Seigler Springs Community Redevelopment Association, or SSCRA, produces this event for the community and the surrounding areas to celebrate its artisans, nonprofit causes, and youth organizations.
This festival is a showcase of local businesses, musicians, artisans, and community organizations.
With the theme being the blackberry that grows virtually everywhere in this mountain habitat, this event features 70-plus vendors selling everything from blackberry scented soaps and candles to blackberry infused vinegars and baked goods.
Locally produced beer and wine will be poured and sold by the glassful. Food vendors will be tempting attendees with ice cream, pastries (including gluten- and sugar-free) barbecue, pizza, tacos and more. Everyone gladly lines up to get a serving of the signature blackberry cobblers sold by the Cobb Mountain Lions Club.
Live music on stage at the venue, Belmont Pines Golf Course, will be provided by The Gill Brothers and Three on the Tree. A blackberry cobbler contest awards the winners with gift cards from sponsors.
Art is a big part of the festival, and the local artists will showcase ceramics, stained glass, wood working, jewelry, photography and works in other artistic mediums.
By attracting visitors from outlying areas to Cobb Mountain for this popular summer festival, the Cobb Area Council sustains their goal of improving the local economy and the visibility of the Cobb community within Lake County and surrounding areas.
As it continues to rebound after the Valley Fire of 2015, this festival has become Cobb’s signature event of the year, with a turnout expected to be similar to 2023’s turnout of approximately 4,000 attendees.
