Lakeport Police to hold police officer trainee physical agility testing; interested candidates welcome

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Get paid while training for a rewarding career in local law enforcement.

The city of Lakeport is looking for police officer trainees.

The first step in the process is to pass the physical agility test.

The city is holding police officer trainee physical agility testing from 7 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Those who wish to participate must bring valid photo identification to the test. Do not bring cell phones, food or personal items to the test. Participants may wish to dress in athletic wear or loose clothing.

The physical agility test will include the following:

– Obstacle course: Run a 99-yard obstacle course consisting of several sharp turns, a number of curb-height obstacles, and a 34-inch high obstacle that must be vaulted.

– Body drag: Lift and drag a 165-pound life-like dummy 32 feet.

– Chain-link fence: Run five yards to a 6-foot chain-link fence, climb over the fence, continue running another 25 yards.

– Solid fence climb: Run five yards to a 6-foot solid fence, climb over the fence, continue running another 25 yards.

– Run 500 yards.
