LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Chamber of Commerce said it has made the decision to cancel two of its upcoming events, “Rhythm and Brews” and the Seaplane Splash-In.

In July 2019, the Lake County Chamber brought the first Rhythm and Brews event to Library Park.

The event featured two bands, food and craft vendors, a VIP Dunk Tank and a VIP Tasting Garden of microbrews and grilled cheese appetizers.

The chamber said it has worked this year to plan and produce the second annual Rhythm and Brews. Vendor applications went out prior to the shelter in place order in March and the chamber signed up two bands for this year.

Chamber officials said they were extremely excited to bring the event again to Library Park in July, with the event approved by the city of Lakeport.

The chamber made the decision to postpone the event to Oct. 17. However, with the continuing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the chamber has now determined that it must cancel Rhythm and Brews for 2020.

“This was not an easy decision however we will return on July 17, 2021,” with next year’s Rhythm and Brews to feature many local restaurants and great family-owned breweries, the chamber said in a statement.

Another event produced by the Lake County Chamber is the annual Seaplane Splash-In. This year the chamber was to have hosted the 41st annual event.

The chamber applied to the city of Lakeport for the permit and provided its COVID-19 compliance program to the city and Public Health Officer Dr. Gary Pace.

With the latest developments announced by Gov. Newsom this week and all the continuing concerns about “large,” the chamber said it also decided to cancel the Splash-In for 2020. The tentative date for 2021 is Sept. 18.
