LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Jessica Pyska, candidate for District 5 Supervisor, announced that she is hosting a weekly online interview series entitled “The Power of Community.”

She will be talking to locals about their experiences during the past few months as our community learns the best way forward together.

“I was so honored to share these stories and hope that viewers will find inspiration to keep going on their journeys,” said Pyska.

The first interview, entitled “Pivot,” features Kelseyville business women Sabrina Andrus of A+H General Store and maker, and Jennifer Gayda of Konoctees and now Bottlerock Candle Studio. Both of these entrepreneurs pivoted to find new ways to keep their businesses afloat during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the 43-minute video, Andrus and Gayda share their stories of strength and determination and their anxieties and concerns along the way.

They also universally praise the support of the community in prioritizing “shop local,” which provided significant help to keep their businesses and their families afloat.

“An interesting coincidence is that all three of us grew up in Lake County, went out, saw the world, did great things, educated ourselves and came back to be a part of this community to contribute and elevate it,” said Pyska.

Next week’s interview, entitled “Hot, Hot, Hot,” will feature local real estate professionals, Rick White, Shannon Williams and Timothy Toye, and have some uplifting details to share about Lake County’s real estate market.

In future interviews, Pyska will be inviting many more locals who tackled issues our community is facing to share their personal stories in the hope that they will empower others and provide them with the necessary spark of energy and innovation to move ahead.

The videos will be posted each week on Pyska’s website, Facebook page and on YouTube. The first interview, “Pivot,” is already posted.
