Supervisor Rob Brown organizes July 4 cleanup effort

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – District 5 Supervisor Rob Brown is inviting community members to take part in a day of service next month.

With the traditional fireworks and celebrations on July 4 being postponed due to COVID-19, Brown is offering an alternative activity for the day.

“Another tradition, the tradition of helping our neighbors, however, has not been taken away from us and I am coordinating an effort for the morning of July 4th to help those who are elderly, disabled or just have no ability to help themselves when it comes to some yard work, weed eating or other things. There is much we can do to safely help them and not compromise their health,” Brown wrote on a Facebook post.

He asked that anyone who knows of an individual who needs weeds trimmed or yard work done contact him by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by phone at 707-349-2628.

Brown also is asking volunteers to contact him and he will match them up with someone in their area who could use their help.

“I know it’s not much but, this is a good time for us to set aside a lot of what is going on and remember that we still have neighbors that need us. Let’s celebrate our Independence by helping those neighbors,” Brown said.
