NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – Time is running out for homeowners, renters and business owners in Lake and Shasta counties to register for federal disaster assistance.
The deadline to register for FEMA assistance and SBA loans to cover property damage to a home or business is Oct. 3.
The deadline for businesses to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans is May 6, 2019
Disaster loan outreach centers offer in-person support to individuals and business owners. They are located in Lake County at the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Tribal Community Center, 9460 Main St. in Upper Lake, and in Shasta County at the Former Kmart, 2685 Hilltop Drive in Redding.
Recovery specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration are available to provide assistance. They are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Survivors needing help may also call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (Voice, 711 or VS) or 800-462-7585 (TTY). Helpline numbers are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
