The purpose of this class is to give the actor a solid base in the Classics. AFTER YOU CONQUER THE CLASSICS THE REST IS EASY! Students, whether they are beginning - intermediate - or advanced, will work together in the same environment where an integration of different approaches can be accommodated.

Beginners will lose their fear of Shakespeare, as well as their own inhibitions. Basic scansion, text analysis, verse, and prose are taught to lay a solid technical foundation for the students.

Intermediate and advanced members will expand and perfect audition material, polish finer points of speech and technique, work on more intricate scenes from Shakespeare (as well as other classical literature), or may take on a Shakespeare role in its entirety.

Although the workshop is basically a study of classical theatre, actors are welcome to use this class for the development of contemporary audition monologues. Each student will be treated on an individual basis according to their own needs and interests.
