Caltrans plans major road work through May 9

NORTH‌‌ ‌‌COAST, ‌‌ ‌‌Calif. — Caltrans‌‌ ‌‌reports‌‌ ‌‌that‌‌ ‌‌the‌‌ ‌‌following‌‌ ‌‌road‌‌ ‌‌projects‌‌ ‌‌will‌‌ ‌‌be‌‌ ‌‌taking‌‌ ‌‌place‌‌ ‌‌‌around‌‌ ‌‌the‌‌ ‌‌North‌‌ ‌‌Coast‌‌ ‌‌during‌‌ ‌‌the‌‌ ‌‌coming‌‌ ‌‌week. ‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌

Included‌‌ ‌‌are‌‌ ‌‌Mendocino‌‌ ‌‌County‌‌ ‌‌projects‌‌ ‌‌that‌‌ ‌‌may‌‌ ‌‌impact‌‌ ‌‌Lake‌‌ ‌‌County‌‌ ‌‌commuters, as well as work in Del Norte and Humboldt counties.

Caltrans‌‌ ‌‌advises‌‌ ‌‌motorists‌‌ ‌‌to‌‌ ‌‌drive‌‌ ‌‌with‌‌ ‌‌caution‌‌ ‌‌when‌‌ ‌‌approaching‌‌ ‌‌work‌‌ ‌‌areas‌‌ ‌‌and‌‌ ‌‌to‌‌ ‌‌be‌‌ ‌‌‌prepared‌‌ ‌‌to‌‌ ‌‌stop‌‌ ‌‌at‌‌ ‌‌traffic‌‌ ‌‌control‌‌ ‌‌stations. ‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌

The‌‌ ‌‌Caltrans‌‌ ‌‌Traffic‌‌ ‌‌Operations‌‌ ‌‌Office‌‌ ‌‌has‌‌ ‌‌reviewed‌‌ ‌‌each‌‌ ‌‌project‌‌ ‌‌and‌‌ ‌‌determined‌‌ ‌‌that‌‌ ‌‌individual‌‌ ‌‌‌project‌‌ ‌‌delays‌‌ ‌‌are‌‌ ‌‌expected‌‌ ‌‌to‌‌ ‌‌be‌‌ ‌‌less‌‌ ‌‌than‌‌ ‌‌the‌‌ ‌‌statewide‌‌ ‌‌policy‌‌ ‌‌maximum‌‌ ‌‌of‌‌ ‌‌30‌‌ ‌‌minutes‌‌ ‌‌unless‌‌ ‌‌‌noted‌‌ ‌‌otherwise. ‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

Route 20 (1.1/2.4) – Construction work from Blue Lakes Road to Irvine Avenue will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute delays. LC#P20KA

Highway 29

Route 29 (0/5.8) – Utility work in Middletown from Route 175 to the Napa County Line will begin on Sunday, May 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C29LA

Highway 175

Route 175 (18.4/19.3) – Utility work from Summit Boulevard to Estates Drive will begin on Monday, May 6. Lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P175BA

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

Route 1 (1.2/1.3) – Road work in Gualala from Sedalia Drive to Pacific Drive will conclude on Friday, May 3. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1AB

Route 1 (31.1/31.6) – Tree work at the Elk Creek Bridge 10-120 will occur on Friday, May 3. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1WA

Route 1 (50.8/52.2) – Road work north of Mendocino at Jack Peters Creek Bridge 01-43484 from Little Lakes Road to Surfwood Estates Road will begin on Monday, May 6. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1VA

Route 1 (75.4/76.1) – Emergency work south of Westport from the Blues Beach Trailhead to the Overlook will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 30-minute delays. LC#C1TA

Route 1 (87.8/103.2) – Paving work in Rockport north of Rockport Street to Redwood Forest Foundation Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1QA

Route 1 (104.9/105.5) – Emergency work in Leggett from Jct Route 271 to the South Fork Eel River Bridge 10-149 continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1UA

Highway 20

Route 20 (32.8) – Bridge work in Willits at the Broaddus Creek Bridge 10-54 will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C20HA

Route 20 (33.9/38) – Utility work east of Calpella from Road 144 to Potter Valley Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Motorists should expect minor traffic slowdowns. LC#C20OA

Route 20 (37.9) – Bridge work east of Calpella at the Cold Creek Bridge 10-40 will continue. A full on ramp closure will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Motorists should choose an alternate route. LC#C20HA

Highway 101

U.S. 101 (5.9) – Utility work from the Comminsky Sidehill Viaduct 10-268 to Comminsky Station Road will occur on Thursday, May 9. Lane closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#P101GA

U.S. 101 (5.9) – Bridge work at the Pieta Creek Bridge 10-133 will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#C101WD

U.S. 101 (10.6) – Bridge work in Hopland at the Feliz Creek Bridge 10-3 will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C101WD

U.S. 101 (22.1) – Bridge work at the South Ukiah Overhead Bridge 10-187 will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and motorists should expect minor delays. LC#C101WD

U.S. 101 (31.8) – Bridge work at the Forsythe Creek Bridge 10-269 will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and motorists should expect minor delays. LC#C101WD

U.S. 101 (33.7/43.2) – Road work south of Willits from Route 20 to Uva Drive in Redwood Valley will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#M101QD

U.S. 101 (62.5/63.4) – Road work from Sherwood Road to the the Long Valley Creek Bridge 10-98 continues. Lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect minor delays. LC#C101SB

U.S. 101 (81.1/81.4) – Utility work from Bell Springs Road to Rattlesnake Creek will occur on Monday, May 6. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C101GA

U.S. 101 (85.5/88.6) – Emergency work south of Leggett near Wilson Creek continues. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should expect minor delays. LC#T101GA

U.S. 101 (94.6/96.4) – Tree work at the Frank and Bess Smithe Grove will occur on Monday, May 6. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P101FA

Highway 162

Route 162 (11/12.6) – Road work south of Dos Rios near the Rodeo Creek Bridge 10-237 continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 3 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#C162IA

Route 162 (11/12.6) – Landscape work near Sand Bank Creek will begin on Friday, May 3. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#M162BA

Highway 253

Route 253 (1.7/2.3) – Road work near Boonville at Bald Hills Ranch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C253DA

Route 253 (5.4/7.8) – Electrical work near Page Road will occur on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C253AA

Highway 271

Route 271 (2) – Emergency work south of Leggett near Big Bend Lodge Road will continue. A full closure will be in effect and motorists should use an alternate route. LC#T271BA

DEL NORTE COUNTY

Highway 101

U.S. 101 (8.3/8.6) – Bridge work near Hunter Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C101KB

U.S. 101 (35.8/36.5) – Construction at the Dr. Fine Bridge near Smith River will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C101WA

Highway 199

U.S. 199 (19.9/31.1) – Emergency work from the Gasquet area to the Collier Tunnel Rest Area will continue. One-way traffic is scheduled weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 30-minute delays. LC#C199HA

HUMBOLDT COUNTY

Highway 36

Route 36 (11/11.5) – Bridge work from Pamplin Grove to Redwood House Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA

Route 36 (15.7/16.3) – Slide removal work west of Devils Elbow Picnic Area will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C36DA

Route 36 (25.3/25.4) – Bridge work at Little Larabee Creek will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA

Route 36 (37.2/37.4) – Emergency work near Burr Valley Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C36DA

Highway 96

Route 96 (27/27.6) – Construction work near Bluff Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C96LA

Route 96 (29.9) – Bridge work at Slate Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C96KA

Highway 101

U.S. 101 (64.2/65.9) – Culvert work from the Loleta Drive Overcrossing 4-165 to the Singley Road Separation 4-110 will continue. A southbound lane closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns. LC#C101VB

U.S. 101 (88.3) – Work at the 299 interchange in Arcata will continue. The northbound onramp to Route 299 will be fully closed. Motorists should use an alternative route. LC#C101KD

U.S. 101 (88.8) – Work at the Giuntoli Lane Overcrossing in Arcata will begin on Monday, May 6. The northbound offramp to will be fully closed overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Motorists should use an alternative route. LC#C101KD

Highway 169

Route 169 (18.3/21.4) - Tree work west of Ryerson Road to McKinnon Road will begin on Monday, May 6. One-way traffic control is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Travelers should expect 10-minute delays. #P169AA

Highway 254

Route 254 (3.2/4.3) – Bridge construction near Fish Creek Road will continue. A full closure will be in effect. Motorists should use an alternate route. LC#C254CA

Route 254 (4.3/4.8) – Road work north of Fish Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C254DA

Route 254 (18.6/20.6) – Emergency work will continue in Weott. A full closure is in effect. Motorists should use an alternate route. LC#T254AA

Highway 255

Route 255 (2.5/2.9) – Utility work near Fish Creek Road will occur on Tuesday, May 7. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#P255CA

Highway 299

Route 299 (0/5.8) – Work from Arcata to Blue Lake will conclude on Friday, May 3. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C299BA/HA

Route 299 (5.5/5.7) – Electrical work near Blue Lake will continue. Both the westbound offramp Exit 5 to Blue Lake and the westbound onramp from Glendale Avenue are scheduled to be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Travelers should use an alternate route. LC#C299HA
