Carl

Open House was a success on Wednesday, April 23, for Carlé High School. We would like to thank all the students and parents that showed up.

We started out our night with our wonderful principal, Ed Zander, who gave an amazing speech about the school and recognizing all the teachers for what they do. Following that, the Carlé Choir sang for students and parents. They sang “Dona No Bis,” “White Sand and Grey Sand and “Zum Gali Gali.”

We would like to thank the choir class for a wonderful performance, and we would like to thank Dr. Heidi Morgan and Kineen for canceling their previous plans to lead the choir. We would also like to thank them for leading our choir singing at Yuba College for Earth Day. There they sang the same songs and had a little time to see what exactly Earth Day was about.

Soon after, Carlé High School presented a logo that was made for the Lower Lake Dance Academy. The logo was a dancer jumping in the air painted with the five elements: earth, wind, fire, water and spirit. It was not quite done, but it was already amazing.

We would like to thank Amanda Tchamourian for coming up with and drawing the logo, and we would also like to thank Atlee Erickson for helping design the outside elements. On top of that, we would like to thank Amanda Tchamourian and Dylan Sheldon for painting the logo onto the 4-foot by 8-foot wall.

Chris Clark performed (a wonderful song) by Bob Dylan soon after. His performance was mind blowing, some would say, “He even performed it better than Bob Dylan himself.” After Chris, there was a surprise performance by Bryan Layne, a graduate from Carlé. He performed “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd. His acoustic performance was also amazing. Mike Tellez was also playing his drums throughout the night. We'd like to thank these three students for showing their talents to the parents and students. That takes guts.

We would like to thank all of the parents who brought food to the potluck. We couldn't have done it without you. We had rice, tacos, multiple different salads, mini dogs covered in barbecue sauce, lots of deserts, punch and vegetables. Thank you all once again.

We would like to thank all of our students who helped with campus cleanup. Without the students help we wouldn¹t have been able to get the school to look so good for the parents. Every student was cleaning some part some the campus. The staff was very thankful and happy for the cleanup.

Spirit week is April 27 though May 1. Monday is crazy hair day. Tuesday will be face paint day. Wednesday is 80¹s day. Thursday is duct tape day. Friday will be Gender Bender day. There will also be events at lunch everyday next week. Let¹s see your spirit Carlé High School.

Art and science camp had a meeting on April 21. There, Carolynn Jarrett got kids excited for the science camp, which will be on May 2. We would like to thank them for having this camp so well planned.

Aside from everything else, we have wonderful news, IT'S BARBARA'S BIRTHDAY. Barbara's birthday will be on Wednesday, April 29. We would like to thank her for all her wonderful help at Carlé. There couldn't be a better office person. We hope you get lots of presents because you deserve them all. Carlé loves you Barbara.

Amanda Tchamourian is a student at Carlé High School in Lower Lake.
