LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — The ladies of the Lakeport Women’s Civic Club were in high spirits on Friday, June 4, as they all gathered, in person, for the first time in over a year at Riviera Hills Restaurant for their last general meeting of the 2020-21 season.

Helen Turley was on hand to introduce new officers and share a little something about the role that each of them plays in making the club a successful operation.

Outgoing President Julie Hernaez was presented with a lovely bottle of wine and a gift certificate for an intimate dinner for six in the lovely Finch Gardens by incoming president Helen Finch.

Beverly Bresso of the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church was presented with a check for $1,000 and Beverly Westphal of the Clear Lake Gleaners was presented with a check for $3,000.

Both of these organizations have played a huge role in helping to provide local individuals and families with the groceries they need during these most challenging times.

Many thanks to all of you who purchased raffle tickets to help make these donations possible.

The Lakeport Women’s Civic Club takes the summer months of July and August to rest up before a new season of fundraising begins in September.

The club meets on the first Friday of every other month at Riviera Hills Restaurant at 11:30 a.m. for an outstanding meal and engaging speakers.
