Heavy rains soak Lake County Tuesday

By 4:30 p.m., Lakeport had received over one and one-quarter inches of rain, at times falling at a rate of one-quarter inch per hour.

The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts the rain to continue overnight tonight with possible thunderstorms and southwest wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour.

Rain showers will continue tomorrow with wind gusts up to 50 mph from the northwest,

but are expected to taper off in the afternoon.

Lows tonight are forecast to be in the upper 30s to low 40s with highs tomorrow near 50.

Overnight temperatures on Wednesday are expected to drop to the 20s and 30s as the storm front moves out of our area by Thursday.
