The City of Lakeport, Water System No. 1710004, failed to submit the required monthly surface water treatment plant report to the Department of Public Health as required by Section 64664(a), Title 22 of the CA Code of Regulations (CCR), during the month of August 2009.

Submittal of surface water treatment reports to the Department is required to ensure that your water system is providing safe, pure and potable drinking water that meets state and federal standards.

This violation pertains to the late submittal of the regular monthly report to the CA Department of Public Health. The report details the basic treatment operations of the surface water treatment plant, which were unchanged from the month before. To ensure this report is submitted in the future by its regular monthly deadline, the City has established enhanced oversight, whereby the Compliance Officer shall provide regular deadline notification to those responsible for completing and submitting the report, as well as confirming that those reports have been submitted.

This notification of the public is being done in compliance with Section 64463.7, Title 22 of the CCR as a means of keeping the public informed.

Ouch! That is going to bite the City of Lakeport in the butt. Wonder who dropped the ball?

The public needs to understand that failure to submit a report does not mean the water system has or had any problems. It SIMPLY means a report did not get to the agency.
Very true yellowwing but then again

considering the time period they failed to report in.... Surely we haven't forgotten our malodorous August already. "enchanced oversight" - gimme a break - even your cell phone can remind you of an important date nowadays! And what are the choices here - incompetence or negligence? I'd like to see some accountability in folks who have government jobs, if it's your duty to do this filing and you fail to do so and there is a related penalty for failing to file in a timely manner how about you foot the bill for the fine out of YOUR pocket instead of the peeps?
