He wanted to be close to his daughter and son-in-law, and grandson, and the lake he loved.
He was predeceased by his lovely wife, Corinna, and his loving and loved grandson, Glenn. At 98, he outlived eight of his brothers and sisters.
Jack worked for Bethlehem Steel as a draftsman and served in the Army Air Force, being posted all over the US as well as living off post with his wife and little daughter Diane.
He owned Bowman Hardware Store for almost 35 years and loved his time there and was joined by his wife and two grandsons and son-in-law Chuck. He also loved marching music and sometimes could be seen marching around the store and singing marching songs. He was so happy that his grandson Steven Ott loved working at the store as well.
He built by hand a mahogany runabout boat in 1953 and took it to Clearlake, where he and his family enjoyed it for many years. It was so beautifully done. He so loved his life and we loved him.
His family thanks Sutter Lakeside Hospital for all they did for Jack. They were beyond kind and caring. Everyone that cared for him signed a card for him when he left the hospital. Also everyone at St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake who were so good to him during his short stay there. They went out of their way to comfort him. Such a nice group.
Hospice Services of Lake County staff is remarkable in their concern for Jack’s comfort, the family cannot thank them each and every one enough for their care.
No services are planned as per his wishes, but in lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice Services of Lake County, 1862 Parallel Drive, Lakeport, CA 95453, in his name would be lovely.
