LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Konocti Lioness Club motto is “For Kid’s Sake” and the club is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in our local community.

Recognizing that the start of school this year is filled with uncertainty, Lioness members wanted to spread some cheer by providing provisions for Riviera and Kelseyville elementary school children and their teachers.

Teachers received large baskets overflowing with goodies for their staff room from members. Lioness members hope to make teacher days ahead more enjoyable. These goodies were donated with love by the ladies of the Konocti Lioness Club, organized and delivered by Lionesses Jane Simpson and Kathie Fossa.

Konocti Lioness members also donated school supplies valued at $2,000 for both schools. Included in this donation are 75 backpacks, crayons, folders, pens and other school supplies that the students will receive when they pick up their assignments.

It is a donation that is from the heart to help our Lake County precious school children at this precarious time. These supplies were ordered, organized and delivered on Sept.1 by Lionesses Judy Michael and Linda Waterstraat.

In the spring, the Konocti Lionesses donated $7,000 in scholarship funds for high school scholarships to both Kelseyville and Clearlake High School eleven high school seniors. Funds were raised by Lioness fundraising efforts throughout the year.

It is with sincere thanks to the local businesses who financially contribute to Club projects and to the Lake County residents who buy raffle tickets at the Konocti Lioness Club basket sales located at the Riviera Market and Lakeport Safeway store. Konocti Lioness Club members donate funds locally to Lake County children.

Konocti Lioness Club had to cancel Camp Discovery this year due to COVID-19 but is hoping to be back in the day camp business next May.
