LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – A virtual public meeting on the 2018 Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery Program will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26.

The California Department of Housing and Community Development is the grantee of $1,017,399,000 of Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds, allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a result of federally-declared disasters that occurred in 2018.

Those disasters included the Mendocino Complex – the Ranch and River fires – and high wind events.

The state must prepare an action plan on how and where to use these funds in the impacted areas for submission to HUD.

At these webinars, HCD will discuss the possible types of recovery programs, program eligibility and the funding timeline.

Impacted households, the general public, business and nonprofit leaders, and elected officials are urged to attend.

The Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery Draft Action Plan will be available for public review and comment by April 27 on HCD’s website.

The public will be able to comment on the draft action plan during the required 30-day public review period.
