LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Registrar of Voters Office is reminding county residents that the filing deadline for dozens of seats on school and special district boards that will be up for election this fall is coming up this week.
More than two dozen local school boards, fire districts and other special districts have seats that will be up for election in the Nov. 3 general election.
The filing period opened on July 13 and continues through 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, unless an incumbent does not file to run again. In those cases, the filing period will be extended to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Official declaration of candidacy forms for eligible candidates desiring to file for the elective offices may be obtained from the Lake County Registrar of Voters Office, located on the second floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Room 209, Lakeport, during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
The office will be open on the last day to file, Friday, Aug. 7, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
