LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Democrats are reformatting their Second Saturday Cinema program on Aug. 8 as a virtual film discussion.
Participants are invited to view “Prescribing Death: The Opioid Crisis in America.”
View at home, when it’s convenient, then join them on Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. for a virtual get-together.
The film follows a case in Oklahoma, where Dr. Regan Nichols is on trial, charged with five murders for over-prescribing opioids.
Her lawyer insists that she was tricked into writing prescriptions by junkies and is being made a scapegoat.
But others believe that doctors like Nichols bear a large responsibility for the crisis now engulfing the country.
Enjoy camaraderie and discussion from your couch, your patio or wherever you set up your device. Residents must register to participate; use
