MIDDLETOWN – Lake County International Charter School (LCICS), for the second year in a row, increased its Standardized Testing and Reporting scores (STAR), raising the school’s overall score 19 points from 720 to 739.

This is just one measure of our students’ successes, but is one that our students and our teachers can be very proud of.”

I'm curious..

Just how many students does this incredible jump in STAR testing over the past 2 years represent in this K-8 environment? Are they being tested against the same standards using the same curriculum as their counterparts in public school? In an "inquiry based" education, is learning based on what you want to learn about rather than what the State tells you you should be learning at any grade level? I'm all for that! Also, can you help me better understand what a "principled and responsible global citizen of the 21st century" is? How does it differ from what the regular public school students are being taught? Please help me with my own personal "inquiry based" education. Since my tax dollars are supporting both, I feel compelled to comprehend the difference or if one outshines the other.
