Measure I funding, Third Street project on Tuesday council agenda PDF Print E-mail

LAKEPORT – At its Tuesday meeting the Lakeport City Council will review the budget and projects for Measure I sales tax revenue, and discuss issues relating to the City Hall parking lot and Third Street project.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.

Measure I, established in 2004, has raised close to $2 million for city projects, principally roads and infrastructure improvements. The council will discuss how the measure's funds are being spent and review what projects the funds should be used for going forward.

In other council business, City Engineer Scott Harter will take to the council an item on setting policy for use of parking spots in the newly refurbished City Hall parking lot, a project completed with redevelopment funds.

Harter's report to the council suggests installing a master parking meter which issues slips to users, which was the original idea for the lot. That would make the lot available to the public.

In addition to that policy discussion, Harter also will take three change orders to the council for the Third Street Project. The change orders will amount to just short of $70,000 in additional expenses and nine additional contract days.

A closed session will follow the open portion of the meeting. City Attorney Steve Brookes will update the council on the Oct. 3 mediation in Superior Acquisitions' lawsuit against the city over the Vista Point Shopping Center sale, and also discuss with the council another case of pending litigation.

when discussing Measure I revenues/projected revenues I'd err on the side of being to conservative with the amount projected to be collected. This household is now spending 0 dollars in the City of Clearlake and close to 70% less than before in Lakeport. Thank you notes can be sent to Thompson, Boxer, Feinstein, Bernanke, Paulson and W.
