LAKEPORT – The Lake County Repertory Theater and Lakeport Players this Friday will debut their joint production of “Little Women” at the Soper-Reese Community Theater in Lakeport. "Little Women" will start at 7:30 p.m. (even though the tickets say 7 p.m.) and will bring everyone to their feet cheering – after they have dried their eyes, of course. Set in the Civil War era where hoop skirts and gentle manners were the order of the day, this production in the Soper-Reese will delight the eye as well as the emotions. "Little Women" offers something for everyone: For the gentlemen, there are strong male characters, soldiers and sword fights. For the ladies there are mothers and daughters, romance and the issues of growing up. For children, there are 10 kids under the age of ten – behaving just the way you would expect kids to behave. This production offers laughter and tears, dancing and pratfalls, and a cast of 30 talented performers – yes, something for everyone. Don't miss this summer time treat! The performances of "Little Women" are scheduled for Aug. 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. matinees on Aug. 9, 10, 16 and 17. Although some tickets for the production may be available at the door, advanced purchase of tickets is recommended as they are going fast. Tickets are available as follow: Reserved and general seating may be purchased at Catfish Books in Lakeport (263-4454); general seating tickets are available at Shannon Ridge Tasting Room in Clearlake Oaks (998-9656), Lake County Arts Council in Lakeport (263-6658), and Wild About Books in Clearlake (994-9453).
