LAKEPORT – Father Leo Joseph, OSF, will preach on the Feast of Corpus Christi Sunday, May 25, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1190 N. Forbes St., Lakeport. Holy Eucharist also will be offered at the 9:30 a.m. services. Father Joseph is the guardian of the Little Portion Hermitage on Highway 175 near Cobb. Refreshments will be served during fellowship in the parish hall following services. Evening prayer is celebrated each Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Healing services are offered the first Sunday of each month. Please call 263-4785 for more information. Consecrated in 1899, the church is a memorial for 5-year-old John Pierre Collier, son of Captain William and Mary Blackwood Collier. Young John Pierre perished in a fire at Clear Lake in 1896. The church is known throughout the community for its food closet and thrift store outreach.
