LAKEPORT – All are welcome at Evening Prayer services each Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1190 N. Forbes St.
According to Worship Leader Mary Turner of Lakeport, Evening Prayer is a wonderful way to lighten our darkness after a busy day.
Morning Prayer and Celebration of Holy Eucharist are held on alternating Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Healing services are offered the first Sunday of each month. Please call 263-4785 for more information.
Consecrated in 1899, the church is a memorial for 5-year-old John Pierre Collier, son of Captain William and Mary Blackwood Collier. Young John Pierre perished in a fire at Clear Lake in 1896.
The church is known throughout the community for its food closet and thrift store outreach. Food donations for the food closet and thrift shop volunteers are needed to sustain these valuable community services.
