NICE – Riders brought out their bikes for a good cause on Saturday, as Lake County Special Olympics hosted the fourth annual Scorchin' Torch Poker Run to benefit its spirited young athletes.

Event coordinator Kristina Navarro reported that 126 riders participated in the 83-mile, five-stop course around the lake, which began in the morning at Robinson Rancheria Resort and Casino.

Also on scene were California Highway Patrol Officer Adam Garcia and CHP Commander Lt. Dane Hayward. Hayward was a civilian for the event and a participant in the ride.

Cash prizes and gift certificates were donated by more than two dozen Lake County businesses, Navarro reported.

As a result of the excellent turnout more than $4,500 was raised to help 120 Lake County Special Olympics athletes, according to Navarro.

like a much smaller turn out this year than in previous years.

I didn't see any cars on display for the "car show"....if there were I missed them.

Also many individuals were from "out of area". Not many locals that I see at all the other Poker Runs....mostly out of Forests shop, Ironhorse Creations in Lakeport. Usually the turn outs there are huge, at least it appears that way to me.

And if any Law Enforcement (hello Rod) is reading this...FYI I have NEVER seen any problems in Lakeport at the HUGE runs!! Help is not required or needed!!
One More Reason

One more reason people don't want to attend and give donations for Ironpig events is because one member has a past with his last business and the improper handling of money from investors. http://www.investmentloss.com/RobertBise.htm
My elderly neighbor is one such person that was taken by unscrupulous and scam artist stockbroker's and is now reduced to living off SSI and help from her family. He should be forced to pay his fine before owning or operating any other business. I would not trust my money to him or any organization that he is involved with. :!:
Get Rid Of The Lake County Iro

I am glad to see money raised for such a great cause, but really 126 people is a bust for such an advertised event. A lot of people in Lake County did not attend the event because the Ironpigs were advertised as the sponsors of the event. I also know that many out of county riders feel the same way and did not attend. After Clearlake Officer and President of the Lake County Ironpigs Tim Celli insulted the Fryed Brothers Band and family by saying they were associated with the Hells Angels and ruined the Blue Herron Event by doing so, the majority of the motorcycle community will not attend or support any Ironpig sponsored event. Robinson Rancheria Just try your event next year without the Ironpigs name on any advertisement and you will be looking at a 500 people attendance, without doubt. Oh by the way I saw many bikes at the event that had "I support the Hells Angels" stickers on them. According to Tim Celli's Ironpig Rules and Bylaws they are not supposed to be involved with any event that has Hells Angels supporters involved. That was his excuse for pulling out and helping the Blue Herron event at the last minute, leaving the staff hanging on how to proceed and bringing in the troops. Many groups from out of county just turned around and went home and they were not outlaws. Tim Celli and your Lake County Ironpigs are hypocrites and use your rules when it fits you and dismiss them when you don't. Why don't you explain that you break the rules by having too little Law enforcement and Firemen in your group than your rules call for. Let's count them, Tim Celli President and policeman, Rob Bise Road Captain and Mechanic, Glen Hendricks Treasurer and School Janitor, and John Winslow Member and Psychologist. You broke your first rule in your book. smilies/shocked.gifops: Ironpigs are for Law Enforcement and Firemen.
Advise needs a new hobby
written by clkcitizen, September 12, 2007
I was just wondering if Advise has any other hobbies than just his private compaign against Tim Celli and the Iron Pigs?? There is obviously some bad blood there but why do you have to take open shots at every turn? It is apparently ok to be part of any other types of motorcycle clubs but not his. While I agree the name would make one think it was law enforcement only, it is time for you to take up a new fight. Maybe one that can be productive.....
Point to consider

How crappy is your self respect if you have to have a patch on your back to know what and who you are. Patchholders for the most part are thugs. Yes, even Iron Pigs, a couple of years ago their boorish behavior at the Almond Festival was a great embarrassment to me, we left early, quietly and hoping no one else knew we were also from Lake County.
Hey Clkcitizen get a clue

I don't have a club, I don't belong to a club, let alone a three piece outlaw patch club. The Ironpigs and Tim Celli ruined the blue herron Run plain and simple. Then they put on the Scorchin Torch Run and wonder why they only get 126 people to attend. Ask around, talk to people, the truth shall set you free. I think it is a major conflict of interest to have a Clearlake Police Officer also a three patch wearing bike gang president. I think it degrades the confidence of the citizens in Clearlake and Lake County. We don't need any, can you hear me? Any three piece patch wearing motorcycle gangs in Lake County period! I take up the fights of the great people of Lake County as they come. I will not be afraid to defend my friends, neighbors and fellow Lake County Citizens. No matter against who or at what cost.
Not the whole truth

I wish people would look at http://www.investmentloss.com/RobertBise.htm. If they did, they would know that Rob Bise "failed to reasonably supervise the activities of Lewis to detect and prevent the unsuitable recommendations". This does not mean he stole from anyone. This does not mean he was unscrupulous or dishonest. It does show that in 2004, a man who worked beneath Rob was found guilty of recommending unsuitable investments. It is something that is EXTREMELY common in the world of stocks and bonds. It is a risk a person decides to take when putting their money in another person's hands. And dressing it up like something it is not shows dishonesty and cowardice!!
