MIDDLETOWN – Langtry Estate & Vineyards will host its third annual “Lucy Grape Stomp” harvest kick-off celebration at the winery on Sept. 15 from 12 to 4:00 p.m. Langtry began hosting this event three years ago, inspired by the famous grape stomping episode of the ‘I Love Lucy’ show. It’s an opportunity for locals to have some fun in the late summer heat and try some of Langtry’s stellar new releases. Guests will enjoy a hearty barbecue lunch paired with Langtry’s Guenoc Lake County wines. They will also have an opportunity to enter in an old-fashioned grape stomping contest, where participants will compete to see who can get the most juice out of a barrel of grapes with their bare feet. The day’s events will include a Lucille Ball look-a-like costume contest, the winner of which will be determined by the guests themselves. And rock-and-roll band, the Dadz, who specialize in rock from the 50s to the present, will perform live. The event will celebrate the harvest at Langtry Estate & Vineyards, which recently released a new top tier line of Langtry Estate wines produced with single vineyard grapes. Langtry also produces Guenoc wines from Lake County that include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. The winery produces a California line of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah under the Guenoc name brand as well. The cost is $35 per person ($30 for Wine Club members). Reservations must be made by calling 707-987-2385 extension 203 or by emailing
