Summer worship schedule set at St. John’s Episcopal Church PDF Print E-mail

LAKEPORT – All are welcome to worship this summer on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. at Lakeport’s historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1190 N. Forbes St.


Morning Prayer is offered on the first and third Sundays of each month, with special healing services following Morning Prayer on first Sundays.


Holy Communion is celebrated monthly on second and fourth Sundays, with the blessing of food for the church’s food pantry also on second Sundays.


Shoppers looking for bargains mid-week are invited to St. John’s Thrift Shop Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


St. John’s is part of the Redwood Episcopal Cluster which includes Holy Trinity, Ukiah, and St. Francis in the Redwood, Willits.


The church is known throughout Lake County for its food closet and thrift store outreach. Food donations for the food closet and thrift shop volunteers are always needed to sustain these valuable community services.

KELSEYVILLE – The Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County will host a special guest minister on Sunday, June 14.


The Reverend Peter Morales is the Senior Minister of the Jefferson Unitarian Church in Golden, Colo. He is also one of two candidates for president of the national Unitarian Universalist denomination.


Elections will be held at the annual UU General Assembly in Salt Lake City at the end of June.


The president of the denomination serves as the chief spokesperson for the Unitarian Universalist Association, and provides leadership and vision for the denomination.


Reverend Morales will speak on "A Religion for Our Time." He will share his ideas for growth of a religion that "believes in the inherent worth and dignity of every person; that seeks justice, equity and compassion; that promotes peace; that respects human diversity."


People wishing to learn more about Unitarian Universalism are invited to attend the service.


The service begins at 10 a.m. at the Kelseyville Senior Center, 5245 Third St., Kelseyville. A children’s religious education program is offered during the service.

LAKEPORT – What do you get when you add EIGHT awesome kids, a backup band and a Memorial Day Service? iSing 09!


The Lake County Community is invited to join us at United Christian Parish (UCP) for a Memorial Day Service that will make you proud and joyful.


The service will begin at 9 a.m., Sunday, May 24. There is no fee and all are welcome.


From the "Star Spangled Banner" to "Letting It Shine" their music will inspire you to remember what this day is about.

LAKEPORT – Whether you have a great marriage or one in trouble, you will want to see "Fireproof, Never Leave Your Partner Behind" being shown at the Lakeport Community Seventh-day Adventist Church.


The movie is being show at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16.


In theaters nationwide, "Fireproof" has touched hearts and impacted the marriages of millions of moviegoers. The companion book, "The Love Dare" will be available at a reduced cost.

LAKEPORT – Shopping is pleasant and items are up to half-off at St. John’s remodeled thrift shop, 1190 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.


Sweaters, coats, cookbooks and craft books are on sale at the store, open mid-week Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
