Windpower & money rules - 2008/11/08 02:18 Windpower is coming to Morgan Valley Road. The Pine Cone Rod & Gun Club is working with E.On Climate & Renewables, a global energy company, to bring windpower to their 2,000 plus acreage on MVR in Lower Lake. We support renewable energy. The problem? Easement to their land is across our small, 45-acre homestead at 23523 MVR. They have pulled a permit for two 197' measurement masts (that's twenty stories tall, kids). No one spoke to us about this, not the Rod & Gun Club or E.On. We get the mailer from the County and immediately we think about the big rigs, crews and strangers traipsing through the heart of our property on our 12' ranch road, right past our 5th wheel weekend trailer. Imagine what it will be like for us when they install the Altamont-style windfarm. Great neighbors, Pine Cone, not bothering to give us a head's up. Great company, E.On, driving right over us, as if we are nothing. There will be a public hearing Nov. 26th (TBA). Please, if you care at all about the "little guy", show up and champion our cause. Maybe they could find an alternate route or helicopter in the massive towers? Please, please, help us out. It could happen to you.
Thank you.
