Agenda timed item 11:15AM to appeal the Planning Commission's approval of a modified tentative subdivision map for Eachus View Estates.
For those interested in see that this insanity stops; you may need to show the board your disapproval of this kind of mindless thought.
This only continues to allow subdividing down larger plots of land that can then be even subdivided down once more as the continued pressure grows for more residential property.
I buy a 3 acre property today; with the thought of subdividing it into two 1.5 acre plots in the future; or maybe even three 1 acre plots. This kind of subdividing is called a minor subdivision and calls for far less scrutinizing with little to no oversight; as the master plan is adjusted as we have seen our master plan here in Lake County is continually being revised to allow for even smaller plots of land in order to build homes on. Sometimes they even use the method called a lot line adjustment when subdividing down smaller plots of land and selling off an acre or two.
This kind of subdividing will only serve to perpetuation what it is that we have today; a mess of houses needing services; that the county is unable to furnish at a price that those seeking those services thinks is a fair price i.e. for free!
I can buy a 90 acre parcel of land; with the thought of buying it and selling off enough to pay for all the land and paying for the house I will reside in; on the remaining 76.15 acres. Leaving the rest of you; to pick up the tap for the cost of the expansion of the water system, sewer system, roads, schools and fire protection needed by those buying the three parcels of land I am selling off. Sound like a deal to me; how about to you?
