RECONSIDER

Steve, please reconsider the facts. You stated that neither of these pests are a direct threat to agriculture -- think again, most of our ag uses lots of water out of the lake -- with the mussels this will become very expensive and will probably require chlorine injection systems at each pickup -- another nail(both environmentally and financially) in ag's coffin. You also support DFG running the show:
"Fish and Game DFG will continue to monitor the Quagga and zebra mussel situation s’ progress and will determine, if and when, it would be necessary for a state and/or local action is needed quarantine to be imposed."

Do we need to get these pests that can't be erradicated to prove that we need to be more aggressive to stop them? DFG has good people and they do good things, but to trust this under-funded weak agency with this monumental task is like using a tack hammer to drive a railway spike.

For clearing up a few discrepancies about who has the direct responsibility of addressing the mussel issue. Would not want anybody pointing a finger toward you for not being proactive and helping this county fight to deter this highly invasive species from entering any Lake County body of water. CYA to the max there good buddy! - Tony
