<description>Out of county boats are only required one time inspection to recive a annual sticker??? Then what happens when they leave and come back? How about temporary use permits good for a week, displayed on the boat or avalable on demand to law enforcment? How the heck does this silly process protect the lake? Use permits work for parks, you pay your fee and display the permit in your windshield makes it easy for the rangers to see if your paid up to enter the park after leaving and during your stay.

Would also help if there were large clear signs letting visitors know of the inspection requierments, at public (and private) boat ramps and entering the county. Not everyone coming here this or any other weekend is going to read the paper or online information.

The problem as CLO points out is this was an ill conceived program from the onset and the BOS, DFG and others have not done anything to fix the omissions in its original form to address these concerns.

 <title>Poor program certification rules</title>
 <link>http://lakeconews.com/content/view/9325/919/#comment-13023</link>
<description>For glaringly obvious reasons, neither a &quot;utility bill showing a Lake County residence&quot; nor a &quot;boat-slip lease agreement with a local marina&quot; should be considered proof of residence for a 'local' boat certification.

This problem has, on several occasions, been brought to the attention of the County employees running the program as well as the BoS.

The problem remains.

Why?
